High gasoline prices are like an additional tax on American families. According to the Department of Energy, passenger cars and light trucks account for almost 42% of U.S. oil consumption and are a major source of air pollution. By following some simple gas saving tips, you can save money and help America reduce its dependence on foreign sources of oil.

Of course, you will probably see many free money saving tips you might have heard of before. Why?  Because they still work, always work, and are even more important now that gas is so expensive in the U.S. But the real issue here… are you faithfully doing every one of these tips?

Unless your car specifically says you need to use high-grade fuel, use regular octane gas. You can save you up to $.70 per gallon and most cars do not really need the premium gas. Even if your car says it requires the premium grade, try using the medium grade, as there’s a good chance it will work just fine and you will be saving some money.

Another thing you can do is use regular grade fuel and every two or three tanks add a bottle of STP to your gas tank. This will still come out a lot cheaper than buying the premium gas. Notice, if you do start hearing any picking or knocking noises go back to using premium gas immediately.

When you are filling your gas tank, don’t top it off. The additional gas is just going to seep out. When the pump first indicates that the tank is full and the automatic nozzle clicks off, don’t be tempted to try to make it to the next even dollar. You are just wasting your money. Don’t you wish you could get free gas?

Identity Theft Can Be Caused By Your Kids

Kids today love to surf the internet. There are many interactive sites that cater to their pursuits and by-line. For the most part, these types of sites are safe, particularly when they’re sponsored by large corporations like Noggin or the Webkinz site.

But there are also a way too many things kids can do to put yours and their identities at risk from identity theft. Kids like to download games and share files. Activities like this lead to all kinds of malicious software being installed on your hard drive. You and your kids will probably never even recognise there was a problem until it’s too late.

Badware is one of the most frequent things that can infect your computer. The purpose is to snoop and register as much data as it can. If you use your computer for online banking, bill paying, checking your credit card balance, and keeping your financial records, your identity is risked every time you turn on your computer.

LifeLock is a company that specializes in identity theft protection. They put safeguards on your credit files at your request that make it difficult for a hack to open new accounts in your name. They also back up their protection with a million dollar total service guarantee. If your identity gets stolen while being a member, they will do the work to fix it for you and spend up to a million dollars doing it.

You can use the Life Lock promotion code ’9′ and lower the cost of your membership to $9 a month or $99 a year. The cost for your child is only $2.25 a month or $22.50 a year. That’s a reasonable price to pay for the peace of mind you get knowing identity thieves won’t make you their next victim.
