Holidaying Cheaply On The Continent

Many of us can no longer take the expensive foreign holidays that we once did because we simply do not have the money anymore. We are all feeling a bit more cautious these days because of the global economic downturn despite the fact that things do seem to be on the mend. We are now more concerned with getting value for our money and it means we are more careful about how much we spend on foreign holidays. So it is no longer the done thing to keep spending on credit cards without a care in the world never giving a second’s thought to the fact that the money would have to be repaid one day.

But don’t think that this all means that these days you have to go without a nice relaxing holiday every year. You can still head off into the sunshine but it is not going to break the bank. It really has never been easier to get to the continent and once you get there, you will find a lot of cheap accommodation. Getting to Europe from the UK is really easy these days provided you can get to Waterloo station because once there you are instantly connected to the European rail network. It is now possible to get from Waterloo to Paris in a couple of hours.

Spending less money on a holiday does not need to mean less enjoyable – not one bit of it. We might actually find that we end up seeing a lot more and doing a lot more exciting things when we plan things more carefully. The problem with not planning and just spending is you end up wasting a lot of money. You can end up spending more money if you are stuck in a resort so the all-inclusive deals are not always the best idea. Cheaper holidays can give us a lot more freedom as well as value for money.

Nowadays, many people are driving to their foreign holiday destination. Lots of individuals head straight to the south coast for the ferry to france. Doing this means you don’t have to worry about things like the disneyland paris tickets. And what better way to get to France for some city breaks europe?

Tips For How To Travel With Other People And Stay Friends

When it comes to travelling around with other people it really can be quite stressful, particularly if you all have different ideas about what you want to do during your trip. The sad fact is that these types of holidays can destroy friendships; they can also be the deathbed for romances. If you are planning on travelling around with your friends and want to stay friends with them, then the following tips should be of some help.

- Plan before hand about the type of things you want to do and where you want to go. It is better to do this before you go than to try it while you are already away. You don’t have to follow this plan exactly but at least have an idea that you both agree upon.

- Travelling with friends is all about give and take. Making sure that everyone gets their way at least some of the time is very important. Just following the whims of one of the group is bound to lead to resentment and anger.

- When it comes to spending quite a bit of time with another person, you must take into account the fact that they could have some traits that you find odd. You should not spend your holiday time picking faults with each other. It is far better to do your best to get on with the other person and to bite your tongue when necessary.

- It is important to make sure that you allow each other some time alone. This will prevent you from becoming irritated with each other because you have spent too much time together. Even just a walk for an hour in the evenings can be enough to have a feeling of space.

- You may have a friend who irritates you on a normal day and if you go away with them it could be really magnified. If this is the case then you should probably avoid going away with this person so that you don’t end up falling out while you are away.

Today, more and more families are taking the car and driving to their holiday destination abroad. Many people drive down and catch the dover to calais ferry. Doing this means you don’t have to worry about things like the disneyland paris tickets. And what better way to get to France for some shopping? Don’t leave without the European travel insurance.

Taking The Kids To Disneyland Paris

A few weeks ago I took the kids to Disneyland Paris. This was something that we had been planning to do for years, but only just got around to doing it. Of course visiting a place like this is every kid’s dream; and my own little monsters were no exception. We decided to travel at the weekend; I took the Friday off and so we had a lot of time to explore the park. The tickets for Disneyland were not too expensive as I booked them on the internet. And I managed to find a quite affordable hotel not too far away.

We live in Cambridge and decided that we would be as well to drive all the way there. I have never previously used the Chunnel so this was a big adventure for me. We left our home at about six in the morning and were on the continent by half past ten; amazingly fast when you think about it. Believe it or not we had already arrived at Disneyland Paris just a couple of hours later. We went straight to the hotel because we were all tired. My younger children would have gone straight to Disneyland but thankfully we managed to get them to agree. So instead of going straight there, we sat in the hotel, had a nice meal and then an early night so we could get up first thing.

After spending the whole of the next day in the park we were shattered but we had had an amazing day; my children were in heaven. We had heard that the size of the park was much smaller than the ones in the US but for us it was plenty big enough. I don’t think we saw half of what was on offer. We have children ranging from three to ten; they all found something to enjoy. On Sunday we returned home. Even though we had a great time here I think next time we visit we will arrange to have more time to visit the park so we will have to go for longer.

As far as huge corporations are concerned, everybody must know about virgin holidays. That’s right, the huge monster of a company founded by the indomitable sir richard branson. Among many of the virgin brand names are virgin trains.
