Eastern Europe has a totally different feel and brings new experiences and cultures. How about the charm of medieval Prague or the amazing Trans-Siberia railway? Lake Bled, Dubrovnik or St. Petersburg: they all sound a world away from humdrum everyday life and will not fail to delight even the most jaded traveller. There is an abundance of different sights and experiences to be found here and a lifestyle reminiscent of a gentler time where life goes by more slowly, and is less demanding. After all, it is hard to feel romantic when exhausted after a stressful day!

The Greek islands hold a charm all of their own and a cruise, or taking a ferry between them is the perfect way to see them. What history and culture lie therein and of course, the weather is usually warm too. The total opposite would be a trip to Lapland and a stay in the renowned Ice Hotel.
